Diana Zubiri, Rosemarie Joy Garcia in real life, born on April 15, 1985 in Bulacan, Philippines, is a FIlipina actress who is undeniably the hottest and most daring actress in Philippine movies today.
Her father left her when Diana Zubiri was just 8 years old together with her elder sister in the care of her mother in Olongapo and made aliving out of a sari-sari store. They later transferred and rented a home in a poorer section of Fairview, Quezon City. It is in that place where the young Diana Zubiri spent her childhood with the guidance of her mother and a stepfather.
Film Career
At the young age of 16, Diana Zubiri started her Filipino movies career after applying as entertainer in Japan. She met Jimmy Mercado, a Seiko Films employee, who was working as part-time as an interviewer for performers applying for Japan. She was 17 years old when SEiko Films signed her a contract and was launced in the sexy film "Itlog" with Rodel Velayo as leading man, that was in 2002. Two more movies were given to her, "Bakat" and "Kasiping" which really arouse the interest of the male audience.
On October 29, 2002, the attention of the Filipino movie press was on her when Diana Zubiri had a photo shoot wearing a two-piece red bikini for FHM Philippines on to pof the EDSA-Shaw flyover in Mandaluyong city. That became a major controversy in her carrer. Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos filed charges of grave scandal against FHM Phlippines and Diana Zubiri because of that incident. But he later withdrew it after Diana Zubiri and FHM Philippines then eidtor-in-chief Eric Ramos and Jojo Gabinete, Diana Zubiri's manager, apologized. That controversy made her more popular among the Filipino moviegoers. That incident was dubbed as the "FHM Flyover" controversy.
TV Career
After doing some bold movies, Diana Zubiri became a GMA Network artist, appearing as a regular cast in Bubble Gang, a sketch comedy television program. She also acted as Danaya, the diwata that holds the Jewel of the earth in the popular fantasy-opera Encantadia. She again acted that role in the sequel of that show - Etheria and Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas.
Co-starred with GMA's hottest talents such as Angel Locsin, Robin Padilla and Marvin Agustin, Diana Zubiri starred as Ingrid in the action-adventure-telefantasya series "Asian Treasures". Until now, she's still exchanging punch lines with her co-stars in Bubble Gang namely Ogie alcasid, Wendell Ramos, Michael V, and others.
